What is the maximum volume of IM injection that can be given...I have looked all over the net, and really haven't found a concrete answer. I'm talking about kids ages 4-5 yrs old. thanks..

according to my nursing school (we just had a test on this about three weeks ago), for deltoid muscle: Adults: 0.5-1ml Children: 0.5 ml
for Ventrogluteal: adults: 2.5-3ml Children: 0.5-2ml
for dorsogluteal: Adults: 2.5-3ml Children: 1.5-2ml
for vastus lateralis: Adults: up to 4ml Children 0.2-2ml
