Re: green poop

Not green, but mustard yellow.........that's what my 9-month-old grandson's post cibum diapers usually look like. He does it so often, and in such quantities, that we call him "Mustard Butt". The other night, I was changing his diaper and said something to that effect, whereupon the 2-year-old started running around the house, gleefully screaming "MUSTARD BUTT! MUSTARD BUTT!" at the top of his lungs as we all cackled wildly and the baby lay there gazing at me quizzically, as if to say "What did you start, Gramma?" He doesn't know yet that he's related to some really weird people.

Re: green poop

After froot loops added those little blue loops...I had green poop. Took me forever to figure out why.

Re: green poop

LOL... I just had to laugh after reading this thread. I have a 3 year old. Earlier this year he had brilliant grass-green poop. My immediate reaction was to freak out, but since he was in no obvious distress, I did quick research. Yup, there are certain blue food dyes that will turn the poop mysterious shades of green. I thought back to the day before, and we'd gone to a friend's daughter's christening and he'd eaten cake with blue flowers on the icing.

What I don't get are the really pale colored stools... still haven't figured that out yet.

Re: green poop

Cap'n crunchberries cereal will do it too. Pretty shocking the first time you see it. My daughter was about 3 and came running out of the bathroom with her undies down around her ankles screaming "my poo poo is blue, my poo poo is blue!".

Re: green poop

I've seen some interesting shades when working with kids as they'd eat the playdough.

Re: green poop

Both my kiddos have pooped bright green after snowcones, birthday cake, etc. BUT the last time my son went green it was soft and repetitive. He ended up having Rotavirus. If the green poo continues check with your practitioner. Good Luck!

Re: green poop

A couple weeks ago, this happened to me! I knew it had to be something I ate...even asked my son if his stools were green. Lo and behold, it took me about 4 hours to remember, I had a large blueberry/raspberry slushie the day before! Boy...was my face red.....and my stool was green!

Re: green poop

i know this is an old post, but green poop can also mean that the food is digesting too fast.
