2nd Annual Pediatric Telehealth Colloquium
Poster Symposium -
September 6-8, 2007
San Francisco, CA

The 2007 Pediatric Telehealth Colloquium is dedicated to the presentation of
original research related to Pediatric Telemedicine by investigators in clinical
science. Abstracts will be peer reviewed for platform (oral) or poster
presentation. Platform presentations will be allowed 10 minutes followed by 5
minutes of discussion.

Guidelines for abstract submission:
Only one abstract per presenting author is allowed. There is no limit of number of abstracts for co-authorship. Once submitted, the abstract text and author line is final. It is presenting author’s responsibility to edit and finalize all details in advance of submission. Abstract should include title, authors, affiliations, and the text of abstract itself. Acceptable text formats are Microsoft Word or WordPerfect for Windows or Macintosh/Apple platform.
Titles: Titles should be brief with a maximum of 120 characters, including
spaces. Avoid non-standard abbreviations.
Authors & Affiliation: Include full name of authors with presenting author in
bold text and all pertinent affiliations. Please designate if the presenting
author is in training, as fellow resident, or student.
Abstract Text: Abstract should be written using Times font with size of 12.
Leave a 1-inch margin on all sides. Abstract text should have a maximum of 350 words. Include following sections: Background, Methods, Results, and
Conclusions. It is not satisfactory to state "The results will be discussed . .
." or "Additional data will be presented." Do not cite references in the
abstract. Limit use of abbreviations; define any non-standard abbreviations at first use in parenthesis. Illustrations are discouraged; however, small tables may be accepted.

Your abstract will be scored on the following criteria: 1) the scientific merit
of the abstract, 2) the adequate sample size and proper statistical analysis, 3) adherence to instructions, and 4) originality of work. All attempts will be
made to have abstracts reviewed with responses to applicants regarding whether or not the abstract will be presented in platform (oral) or poster form by July 15, 2007.
All abstracts will be printed, collated and available for all to receive at the
September 6-8 conference.


Guidelines for poster session:
Posters must be set up and removed promptly. Pins or thumbtacks will be supplied to mount your poster. Moderators will discuss posters on “walk-rounds” (Date TBA). You are encouraged to be with your poster during this time.
1) Surface of the poster board will be standard size (4 feet high and 8 feet
wide).
2) Prepare a headline that identifies your research to be mounted at the top
of the poster board. Include authors and their affiliations under the header.
3) The key is to achieve clarity and simplicity. Do not overload the poster.
Use a coherent sequence (top to bottom or left to right) to guide the viewer
through the poster. Use figures, tables, graphs and photographs when
appropriate; keep text brief. It may be helpful to have materials pre-mounted on
mounting boards. All materials should be legible from a distance of 4 feet.
4) Avoid using abbreviations, acronyms and jargon. Font should be consistent
throughout.

Complimentary Registration:
Accepted abstract authors may apply for complimentary registration by August 15, 2007 if they meet the following requirements:
1) Presenting author must be a physician-in-training (fellow, resident) or
medical student and must provide appropriate documentation at the time the
abstract was submitted for consideration.
2) Request for complimentary registration MUST be received by August 15, 2007 in writing to: kourosh.parsapour@ucdmc.ucdavis.edu
