Can anyone help...

I teach community health nursing at a university. I am looking for ideas/ways to make my unit on Parish Nursing more exciting. It is such an awesome area for service, however it is not popular in my area...and as we all know if students are not excited about it they tend to forget about it. I would appreciate any ideas you may have...personal stories from the heart would always work too (makes it real for the students). Thanks so much!

Re: Can anyone help...

Maybe it would be a good idea to actually go and talk to other parish nurses about their successes and failures. That way if someone wanted to do something they had a better idea. Only the big churches here do that. All volunteer here to so not many people can do that. I wanted to but needed to earn income to support our family. I hope someday in the future I can do that. Sorry no one responded until now.

Slow forum,

Re: Can anyone help...

Maybe you could have a Parish Nurse come in and talk to your class. I actually went and talked to a community health class about the things we are doing at my church. Just having someone that is passionate about what they are doing can make the class more open and passionate about the topic as well. Good luck!
