I interviewed at an OR last thursday.I guess it went well, I have 1 year experience in an OR. The HR recruiter did tell me it would be about 2 weeks til I heard a decision, before I even met the coordinators and had my interview...but I have never been to an interview where I was not offered the job on the spot, so, I am unnerved. Should I call? What should I say? I havent even sent a follow up email yet.
Has anybody gottent he job and *not* been offered it on the spot?
Thoughts, please????

If HR told you two weeks, believe them. There's no way for you to know, unless they told you outright, how many others they would be inteviewing for the same position. Plus, HR is probably dealing with filling other openings as well. I have been offered jobs well after an interview, just because of those factors.
DEFINTELY send a follow-up email - or a thank you note - at least thanking them for the opportunity to interview for the position, and reiterating what you feel are your strong points that complement the position they are offering. Make sure you let them know that you are definitely interested in the job, but don't go overboard with phone calls and such just yet. I always send a followup email/thank you note (depending on the circumstances) within 24 hours of the interview - sometimes even the same day. It let's them know that you are serious about it, and haven't lost interest in what they have to offer.
Waiting is always the hardest part - your imagination can get the best of you sometimes - but patience is always the best way to go. Best wishes - hope you get the job!

Nope - it's not too late. As long as they haven't filled the position yet, there's always time. And since it's been less than a week since your interview, I doubt they have offered it to anyone yet. You never know - they might be weighing your qualifications against another who might have technical expertise, but your courtesy could get you the points you need to get an offer!
I know it's not supposed to work that way - but to be honest, lots of things get done based on reasons other than being able to fill a job with technical expertise. Sometimes a place will even look for a person who does NOT have the most experience elsewhere, because in doing so, it does not put them in the position of having to break many "bad habits" you may have acquired at another facility! Just a little food for thought.......

Did you send a thank you note? Thank you emails are acceptable in today's technology age. So if you havent sent that yet, go ahead. They will appreciate it and hopefully you will hear from them soon.

Have you sent a note to thank the person who interviewed you? This is recommended. I would definitely follow up with a call after at least two weeks have gone by.
