service line management in or

I work in th OR in Texas (south texas )The OR is run in the traditional manner - 1 board runner, circulators, techs etc. The new director has decided to implement a servic line of management in our OR. By organizing the specialties into clusters and having 1 RN be the "servic manager" for each cluster.

I am looking for more info on this type of management in the OR. We have been asked to give our thoughts and ideas about the new proposal. pro's con's etc. without much information I really do not know what to say.

I know that each Rn or service line manager will run the board once a week or that is what he is proposing, they will coordinate and take"ownership" of that specialty.

How is your OR ran and is anyone familar with this type of management.

Pro's Con's feelings from any will be greatly appreciated
