What type of special training does it take to become a scrub nurse?

There are 3 ways: new grad program, College training and on-the-job training. New grad programs are usually found at large hospitals especially university based. College training can be found at many city and county colleges but are usually Operating Room Technician programs. If you are allready an RN, most hospitals will fill shortages with on-the-job training for interested RN's. Show your interest at the local operating room and see what they offer.
