Question resterilizing laser fibers

Does anyone resterilize the flexmax holmium laser fibers in their operating room? They are resposable fibers that can be steam sterilized.

We use Trimdyne and Oddessy holmium laser fibers. We can use them up to five times each; they are tested by the laser tech (outside company) after each use prior to being reprocessed in our SPD. Ours are gassed, not steam sterilized.
I hope this helps.

why do you have a outside company inspect your fibers ? do you not have a laser tech in your facility that can do it. what company does the inspection?

Hi,
We have an outside vendor bring a laser in for the case; we do not own holmium, Freddy, or ESWL (laser) units. The tech tests the laser fibers after each use allowing us to get up to five uses per fiber.
