New ODP - advice appreciated!

Hi everybody,
I have just found out I have an offer from a uni to become an ODP

So excited... but also the fear now sets in....!!
I would love to hear from your experience about what I can expect.
What are the best things (- and the worst things) about the job?
Any inside knowledge will be greatfully received!
