OR Interview

I have been nursing for 2 1/2 years and currently and work on a med/surg floor. My desire is to work in the OR. I had an interview for an OR position and it went very well. I am having a peer interview next week and was wondering if some of you OR nurse out there could give me any advice. I've never had a peer interview so I really don't know what to expect. Any questions I could ask or anything at all would help me out would be very much appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Re: OR Interview

Teamwork is the heart of the OR. When it's functional, and everyone is clicking together as if with one mind, extraordinary things can be accomplished. In a peer interview, I might ask a candidate "give us an example of how you have pulled a team together in a difficult patient care situation."
Don't go to the interview in scrubs or casuals, wear a power suit, even if you feel overdressed, you will also feel powerful and put together. Don't let them see you sweat, have your list of questions ready so you don't have to fumble trying to remember them.
My other important advice: Never drink a large latte before a long case.
Good luck on your interview. Don't be nervous, you'll do great.
