I am about to graduate nursing school and have a job offer in both the OR and a M/S Telemetry floor. My only hesitation with the OR is if I decide to leave, will I make it on the floor.......... I don't plan on leaving, but you never know. Have any of you left the OR and had trouble with nursing skills, finding a job etc....
hi....I went straight into the OR after nursing school and was there for 5 yrs. I worked on a med surg floor for a bit. Then, I left nursing for 12 yrs. When I was ready to go back to nursing, I didn't even think about going into the OR because I am in a foreign country (another language and it is intense, on the alert type of work where communication is so important), however, they put me in the OR. That's where I had the most experience. I have been here for 4 yrs. now and enjoy my work. So it is possible to return to OR...Good luck with your decision.....
