Just curious if there are any heart team nurses out there who would be willing to disclose their hourly pay. I'm curious about pay range. I want to know some average rates so that I can have some idea of how to negotiate pay.
Pay rates vary by location and need. I usually get a couple dollars an hour more than the "General OR" for working the "Heart Team". Currently doing travel assignment.
We get an extra 7% of base pay for having to take so much extra call. 14-18 days per 6 weeks schedule. Of course we only get $2 an hour to carry the beeper, so that really sucks, We are also on "back-up" if the regular OR call is busy and a trauma comes in, which could potentially be a big problem if we were doing something else and needed to do a heart. But you know how it works now, nothing changes until something bad happens.
We also work in the rest of the OR, doing whatever......
But I love doing CV stuff so I guess I just have to put up with the rest of the cra*, LOL
