Does anyone work in an ambulatory care center in a hospital? Anyone know what the work entails?

Re: Acc?

Ambulatory Care normally refers to the out-patient surgery and procedure dept. They have a pre-op area, a procedure or OR area, then a recovery room set up, or PACU.

Re: Acc?

Thanks. I'm wondering if one stays in one area, such as preop, or does one have to do pre and postop? I would imagine the OR part would use staff who just worked in there.

I worked in an outpatient surgery center for a little while, and we did both preop and postop. The OR staff was separate, like you said.
