orthopedic question

I'm currently working for a company where I work with patients with CPMs and am considering going for an RN. Possibly a stupid question, but I see the terms "orthopedic" and "orthopaedic" a lot. Is there a difference between these 2 terms?

Re: orthopedic question

Same term, depends on the country of training.

In England, and Australia, and possibly Canada (?) we use paediatric, oesophagus, orthopaedic etc. In the US you use pediatric, esophagus, othopedic.

ie. US English v. Australian English v. UK english

Re: orthopedic question

Our Journal is Orthopaedic Nursing.

I think it kind of identifies us as real orthoPAEdic nurses.

I spell it either way at the moment because I emigrated from UK wher ewe spell it Orthopaedics and now I am here in the USA they spell it predominently Orthopedics.
