nursing update

as a ortho nurse
we provide skilled services that can be performed safely and effectifly only by proffessional personnel

we care for patients of all age with actual and potential muscloskletel injuries and condition.
we provide assessments and educate patients about braces, prothetics and other orthopedic equipments.
we are able to communicate with patients in understanding their anxities and fear.

So, as a staff AD nurse, in my country, we are suffering of the chance of update our knowledge and skills, as there is not specialist studies or courses regarding ortho. cases......
so, as you are you will be that orth nurse with that experience but without that certificates that lead you work with out self-confidence and assurance......

but what to do only one way !?!?!?!?
searching of study in other country at my expense

thanks...

Re: nursing update

Here in the USA there is the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (naon). Their website is orthonurse.org
Almost all of the advanced education in orthopaedics I had was at my own expense. The certification exam is one of the hardest I ever experienced, but it was also one of the most fulfilling.

I kept my certification for 15 years and finally went to a retired status this year. Look at their site for literature and a nice forum for technical questions.
