Question fermur fracture recovery

I am recovering from a right femur fracture with a plate inserted on Jan 8, 2007. I began weight bearing in May and still do not have a smooth gait. I do not know if this is common. I would like to hear from others that are undergoing recovery or that have recovered. Please let me know what you are experiencing as you return to walking.

Everyone's recovery is individual - I wish you the best. Specific questions probably need to be addressed to your provider or PT.

Re: fermur fracture recovery

I fractured my femur on June 20 of this year, am still non wt bearing. What was your experience like coming out of the hospital, pain? How did your accident happen?
I was kicked by a horse, and I am looking at riding again by October ( I ride competitively ) and am wondering if this is realistic? How much ROM did you lose?

Re: fermur fracture recovery

As pointed out by traumaRUs, specific questions regarding recovery, disability, etc., should be posed to your physician/surgeon.

Good luck.
