pediatric oncology resources

Hi - I am a student who will soon take on an extern position in a pediatric oncology floor and would like a head start on what to expect, prepare for, etc. Does anyone have words of wisdom to pass along? Specifically, online resources or periodicals, special equipment to purchase, or anything you think may help me prepare for success would be most appreciated.
