I am a LVN currently working in a private practice setting. I am the only nurse at my office. I mix and infuse chemo , as well as access all pt, draw routine lab, injections ect. I see on avarage 20-30 pt/day, 7-10 of those pts are chemo infusions. I don't feel this is safe! I have declaired safe harbor more than once. What is the max number of chemos one nurse should be responible for? Help ! Anyone!

Wow, obviously if you are the only nurse, the chemo is not being checked by 2 nurses? What state are you in? I thought only RNs could administer chemo?

I am in Texas. Most of our nurses are LVNs and we are all chemo certified. I do 2nd check via phone with another nurse. Somedays are just more overwhelming than others.
