My father-in-law underwent what we thought was a liver biopsy last week. The path report came back metastatic renal cell carcinoma. He had a partial nephrectomy in 2003 for renal cell carcinoma. During his most recent check-up, he was found to have a 3x2cm lesion in segment 4 of the liver. The radiology report also showed 2 very dense areas in the liver in segment 4. Can anyone provide me with info regarding this diagnosis? I am an ortho nurse and have had very little exposure to oncology. Thanks in advance.
