I'm new here!

Good day all, this is my first post. I'm a nurse @ a clinic in Minnesota. I enjoy most aspects of my job, and have been doing it for 8 years. My question is to anyone who has experience in grief/cancer. I feel completely comfortable with our patients, and most know me by name. The only time I get uncomfortable in my job is when I have a patient with either a new terminal diagnosis or recent loss. I just don't know what to say! I tell them I'm sorry, and listen, but before you know it, I'm tearful. I don't want them to have to comfort me. Any advice, comments, suggestions, and anecdotes would be greatly appreciated! Thanks~
