Hi to all. I am a Occupational Health Nurse Manager, and I am currently researching nursing salaries specific to Occupational Health Nursing both nationally & regionally. Currently I manage a staff of approx. 15 nurses who happen to think that a salary of $19-$21/hr is not competitive. None of these nurses are certified in Occ Med. Does anyone have any statistics or work in Occ Med that can help or direct me to a resource. I've researched the internet but can't seem to find what I'm looking for? Thanks for any help provided.

I'M NEW TO THE FIELD OF OHN AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THE AVERAGE WAGE IS BUT AS A PER-DIEM IN A LARGE PLANT I MAKE $20.00. THE FULL TIMERS MAKE APPROX. $24-$26 PER HOUR, TIME AND A HALF ON SATURDAYS AND DOUBLE TIME ON SUNDAYS. I DON'T MIND MAKING LESS MONEY BECAUSE I CAN SET MY OWN SCHEDULE - I LIKE THAT.

About six months ago the salary for my position was re-evaluated using the Hay System.

It was determined that the range for OHN in the Mid-Atlantic area among private employers was 22.00 to 27.00/hr. Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm plus retirement, 401k, stock options, and company paid health/dental/vision/short term disability and long term disability insurance.

I just discovered this message board recently and don't know how often you check your post, but I live in North Carolina and I feel the OHN's are paid less than other places. However, the OHN's that are RN's make approx. $18 to $20 an hour. LPN's who are OHN's make between $13 to $16. If your nurses are not COHN's, I feel they are being paid a great salary.

I was offered $26.oo an hour for a large corporation in NYC. I think its too low. My base in a hospital was 33/hr. For ten years, but have been a nurse for 13.

I'm a new OHN but I've been an RN for over 20 years. I'm not certified yet and I live in southern CA. I'm studying Occ. Health Nursing and work part time in an employee health clinic and with an Occ. Health Nursing registry.

I currently earn between $23. and $26./hour. I wouldn't find wages below that to be competitive. However, I realize in areas where the cost of living is lower, salaries would probably be lower.

As an LPN in Oklahoma i am making 19 an hour but i think thats upper pay range. i am currently going to school for my RN and am hoping to see about a 5$ an hour bump in pay minimum. I plan on continuing on and eventually become a nurse practitioner.

on a side note while doing my clinicals at a local hospital i was surprised to find RN's making less than me on their base pay and only slightly better with shift diff. So if i wanted to work in a hospital when i graduate i would have to take a pay cut.
