Lightbulb Wireless Fetal Monitoring

I am a Labor and Delivery nurse and I was thinking of inventing a type of wireless fetal monitor. Then I decided to search the web only to find that such a product has already been developed. So much for early retirement. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has actually used one and how do you like working with it? Anything you can tell me about this system....good or bad....would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Wireless Fetal Monitoring

I've used and HP telemetry unit that worked pretty well on thinner ladies but it's a nightmare on obese women. It would go in the tub, but not pick up the FHR if the jets were on. On the whole, I liked it. One more option for maximizing upright positions.

Re: Wireless Fetal Monitoring

Ours worked pretty well in the little hospital I worked at. Our unit was small and the patients could walk virually anywhere in the hospital and we could see the tracing. It was a HP system, I believe. Couldn't use it in our bigger facility because it interfered in the telemetry system but so nice for someone on pit who wanted to take a little stroll!

Re: Wireless Fetal Monitoring

In my previous hospital, we had 2 wireless monitors, and they were fantastic. As mentioned earlier, it's a godsend to an all-day pit patient who doesn't wnt to stay in bed.
