Re: What's the weirdest name you've heard a patient name her baby?

A friend of mine works with children in a social service agency and has come across some weird names. One family had four boys: John Jr., Jonathan, Johnny, and John-John. These were the actual names on the birth certificates. Guess what dad's name was? Guess how big dad's ego was?

Another one: Bayarea, perhaps not so bad except that they lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, locally referred to as the Bay Area.

Samiracle (like it's a miracle)
Secret Love (On the US, the baby's fingers were doing the sign language for "love", so the parents thought it was a secret message to them...LOL)
Kunta Kinte (Yes, they were African Am...what a sad name...if you've ever read Roots)
Jezzeriah (just think how many fights this boy will get into...shoulda just named him Sue!)
Baby Girl A-Havana BabyBoy B- Memphis

I'm sure I have more, but these are the ones that stick out!

Scary to think my parents put 2 names in a hat and DID NOT draw 'Candida Marie' out. They pronounced in 'Con-DEE-dah'. My nickname would have been 'Candy'.

Whew! Dodged that bullet!

I guess there are three that stick out in my mind: #1 Eko XXIV (this was a good one with the vital statistics people who did not want to allow a roman numeral for a middle name but the parents got it through), #2 Record for a boy and #3 a teen mom's little girl Strawberry.

I guess if Gweneth Paltrow can have an Apple she can have a Strawberry...I prefer a Melon myself

Margarita means "Daisy" in Spanish. It is a common name in Mexico.

Some of the funniest names I've heard are:

Pirate Packer (1st and middle name)
Ima Swanger (actually pronounced Swan-gur)
Nevaeh (Heaven spelled backwards)
Daisha pronounce Day shuh
also had a step sister once named Silver Hill

I was floated to nursery the other night and we were talking about this because a pt had named her child Shithed (pronounced something different than how it was spelled but come on people!!!).

Another nurse had a pt name her twins....

(pronunciation Li-mon-gelo), with the o having a long sound, but spelled Lemonjello
and her twin you guessed it, Orangejello pronounced Or-an-gelo, with a long a.

These poooooor kids.
