Resources for Birth Attendants

Hi all
Thought I would post some resources that are great for people who attend women in labour. Some are from Australia and some from the U.K. You may have seen all of them, if so just ignore! Many of these are midwifery sites but they are pertinent to all birth attendants.

http://www.rcmnormalbirth.org.uk/
Campaign for normal birth from the Royal College of Midwives UK
http://www.rcm.org.uk/professional/pages/practice.php?id=1
Evidence based guidelines for care in normal labour, scroll down the page and click on the link.

http://guidance.nice.org.uk/CG/published
National Institute for Clinical Evidence UK. Great evidence based guidelines on CS, IOL, fetal monitoring, antenatal care and Intrapartum care guidelines due out any day!
http://www.guideline.gov/summary/summary.aspx?doc_id=6187&nbr=3986
Guidelines on vbac and breech from NZ guidelines
http://www.infochoice.org/ic/ic.nsf/TheLeaflets?openform
MIDIRS informed choice leaflets for women and professionals, need to pay a small amount to download them but they are fab.
http://www.birthspirit.co.nz/
Website of Maggie Banks, NZ midwife considered an expert in breech birth. She has a fabulous book called Breech Birth Woman Wise.
http://www.birthinternational.com/
Oz resource site with great articles and fab books.
http://www.capersbookstore.com.au/
Another bookshop with mailorder.
http://www.aims.org.uk/
Association for Improvement of Maternity Services UK, great site.
http://www.acmi.org.au/
Oz college of midwives site
http://www.thewomens.org.au/ClinicalPracticeGuidelines
Evidence based clinical guidelines from the Royal Womens Hospital in Melbourne.
http://www.radmid.demon.co.uk/
Midwifery association UK, great articles

Just adding another one. Sarah is a doctor in Oz who homebirthed her children. Great articles on birth hormones and one on physiological third stage.
