Basically I'm looking for information / advice / guidelines on nurse - patient communications.

The somewhat unusual reason is that I've got a Japanese pen friend who's a Ob-gyn nurse and who occasionally has patients who speak no Japanese. She speaks some English but is concerned that she isn't very fluent and none of her co-workers are any better.

As I'm pretty good at Japanese literal translations and corrections of bad English are no problem but I don't want to inadvertantly give dubious advice by email hence my request.
