I am looking at purchasing one of these systems for our small OB dept. and wanted some feedback including pro's and con's of both systems. Both seem comparable in quality, but I would like to here from nurses that have worked with both systems. Please help!

We use the GE QS system at our facility. I like it, but I cannot compare it to the other. I am still learning all the ins and outs of it, but I like that you have the opportunity to chart the same thing different ways, so each nurse can chart how it best works for her/him.

I have only used the QS system so can't comment on a comparison. I like it as it can be used many ways--even as a chalkboard. I have used it at three places and each place used it just a bit differently based on their need. I think it is easy to learn and master.

We use the QS system, but only for surveillance, we do not use computerized charting. It is an ok system for what we use it for, I dont' think it is the most user friendly, but it is the only system I have used. Sorry can't be of more help.

we just went live with OB Tracevue last February- I actually left my OB position last week, but when I was there, I loved using it. Very user-friendly, even easy for the computer challenged nurses to learn. It works well there. I think they're planning on eventually rolling it out to the OB practices, so they can do prenatal &postpartum visit documentation in the system, and be able to view inpatient charts (and EFM strips, live) from their offices. The nursing staff was given the opportunity to trial Tracevue and another system (forget which it was called) and give feedback before the dept invested in it.

Used the GE QS system for both surveillance and charting at my last job in California. It is not user friendly for charting, reading the printouts is impossible. I've heard through the grapevine that ChildWatch is user friendly and easy to use.
