National Certification Corporation?

I'm an RN looking to change from my current specialty into maternal-fetal medicine at a local clinic. I found information from the National Certification Corporation offering credentialing in areas such as EFM and RNC. Is this a valid program? I wouldn't qualify to do the RNC yet, but am interested in EFM to gain more knowledge in this area. Before I speak with my prosepctive employer about this, I need to know if it's a recognized certification.

Thanks!
karen

Re: National Certificate Corporation?

Yes, it is.

NCC is a nationally recognized and accepted certification organization. I am certified with them.

Good to read of your interest in this and wishing you good luck.

Re: National Certification Corporation?

It is a very interesting field of nursing.

Glad that you are thinking about being certified later on.

Again, good luck.

Re: National Certification Corporation?

I am certified by NCC, too. I also took the EFM test. It was more a personal goal for me, as my hospital does not recognize (pay more) for certification, which I think is a shame. From what I've read, most hospitals, at least around here, don't pay extra. Many will pay for the cost of the test, though. I HIGHLY recommend taking a prep course. The one I took was 2 days.
