I'm in my last semester of nursing school and at uni I've been taught that late cord clamping puts newborns at greater risk of becoming jaundiced. I thought this made a lot of sense and never really questioned it until recently when a woman on a natural parenting board suggested that there are more health benefits for baby if the cord is cut after it stops pulsating (higher iron levels etc). I'm just curious as to what your experiences and opinions are and if you have any links to journal articles on the topic that would be great. I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, i did a quick search and didn't have any luck.
