I recently gave borth to a healthy baby boy in July. After the birth, I was bleeding heavily and they took me to the OR because they thought I tore a hole in my cervix. When the doctors got looking, they found that I have 2 uteresus, 2 cervix, and 2 vaginas. does anyone know the name of this condition, and possibly give me some information so I can look further into it. I am just very surprised because i have hydronufrosis (not correct spelling) in my L kidney, and i have hjad ultrasounds all my life, and never knew about this.

It is called a bicornuate uterus. It is a congenital anomaly. It can effect fertility and can be surgically corrected. Was your Mom on DES when she was pregnant with you? This sometimes occurs in DES babies.

The term is didelphys uterus (double uterus, cervix and vagina).
Many times these are not discovered until the woman presents to the healthcare provider due to infertility. Oftentimes renal anomalies are associated with the gynecological anomaly. As for it being common, about 0.1 - 0.5% of women have this.

Have you discussed this with your physician? You can learn much more by just asking for an explanation. That's exactly what I would do.
