I need a 12-step program

I am addicted to this forum! LOL. I recently made the decision to return to school to finish my RN and what I'm really burning to do after I'm finished is to work in L&D. Quite the change from working in LTC (what I've been doing as an LPN since '94), for sure. I'd been reading the LTC forum here for a while when I discovered the OBGYN board and now I can't quit reading! The more i read, the more I want to read. It only serves to make my goal of working in L&D stronger in my mind and boosts my drive to learn as much as I can. Great forum!

Re: I need a 12-step program

(I am now standing)

Hi, my name is Heather
I am addicted to allnurses
I have encouraged all of my nursing friends to join allnurses
I check allnurses at all hours of the day and night
I go to allnurses despite not having slept for 31+ hours
I can spend hours on allnurses
My husband does not understand why I laugh at my computer screen for hours on end
I have learned a great deal from allnurses
I love allnurses and have no intention of leaving anytime soon

Have a nice day

Re: I need a 12-step program

My addiction to allnurses has become very disruptive to my life. My house is not getting cleaned, my meals are late and or burned, my husband watches TV by himself, while I "chat" with my allnurse family. It is hopeless, I have given myself completely over to the addiction. They will no doubt be prying my hands from the keyboard after I expire. All is not lost however because I learn so much here and have found out that my hopes, dreams, expectations, frustrations, (shall I go on) are shared by so many.
God Bless Allnurses

Re: I need a 12-step program

Dear LesMonster..
W as an LPN for 18 years before completeing my RN. I just passed my boards 2 weeks ago! It took me 3 years, but it is worth it. I am now in L&D after long term care and floor nursing. I gave an IV push med last night, and it felt so good. ;-)
