I have returned from the beach............

The reason I post an entire thread about it, is, I received a few Private Messages from folks who apparently did not know I was out of town. A few wondered if I left. Others requested help from me.

I have not left, and am back, well-rested, happy and content after a wonderful vacation on our north beaches in WA.

I am in the process of "catching up", reading and answering PM's and reading the threads in my moderated forums and replying as needed. Please give me a couple days to get my "bearings" as I peruse the site and catch up on what I have missed. If you PM'd me, I will be replying soon, I promise.

It's good to be "home" and I missed you all.

I'm good, Deb.........and I'll be even better when I switch to part-time, as I'm planning to do just as soon as my manager opens up another position. I've been working four days a week for two years, and I'm getting close to burnout......this way, I'll only be obligated for two 12's per week, and can pick up extra shifts (at time-and-a-half) anytime I want. I'm in good enough physical shape now that I think I can manage a 12-hour shift, just as long as I don't have to do it more than 2 days in a row. And I don't really care about having to go back to working weekends, it's never bothered me before......I just want to get off this 11-7 merry-go-round, I'm tired of trying to be all things to all people for the first 4 hours of my shift, and then having to wrap up someone else's 8 hours of work in the last four hours of mine. I'm going to get out of med/surg entirely as soon as possible, but until something opens up in discharge planning or hospice, I need to make the best of it.

Sure am glad you're back, Deb.........I know you needed that vacation desperately, and I'm so happy that you got it!
