Question how to get a copy of AWHONN standards?

Hello all - I wonder if any of you know how I can access a copy of AWHONN's official standards of care for Mother/Baby and for High risk OB/antepartum care. I am not currently a member of the organization - would love to join but absolutely cannot afford it right now. It is certainly on my agenda when finances become a little straightened out.

I need this information within the next week or so because I have a scheduled meeting with the VP of Nursing at my facility (I have requested an exit interview) and would love to have something in print to back up some points regarding quality of care at my institution.

I am not in any trouble of any sort - am leaving for a better job at a highly-respected institution - but have found my department manager unresponsive to comments and even vindictive over my trying to advocate for a patient.

I hope that by doing this I might leave it a better place for others. Right now I would not be comfortable giving birth where I work nor would I recommend it to any family or friends. I'm not comfortable with that, so I'm moving on....but still, would like to effect some change along the way if I can.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get the info I need? Either on the Web or in a library? Otherwise please send any prayers or good karma you can spare. Many thanks.

Go to awhonn.org and you can find out how to purchase Standards and Guidelines.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info - I had already looked on their site and didnt find what I needed.
The only thing I found close to what I'm looking for was a monograph and the purchase price was 32.50. I really am financially strapped right now and so that is too much.
Does any other organization have standards that might be applicable and if so can I access those free? I just hate to go into this meeting without some sort of backup....even though I have a pretty strong intuitive sense about what should be right, it would be nice if someone who is somebody also thought so!
It seems that logging in some time in a library might be my only option.
