Hip/Pelvis pain?

Hello to all you OB/Gyn nurses,
I hope you don't mind me asking a few question? I am a Long Ter Care Nurse and I am 25 weeks pregnant. Lately, I have been having quite a bit of right sided hip pain , lower back aches and pain in my pelvis. I told my Dr. about this and she just said if it continues maybe she would set me up with Physical therapist. She also recommended I buy a maternity belt. I bought the maternity belt that day and it does offer some relief. I am just worried if all these aches and pains are normal and if my job is putting too much stress on my body? I do walk and stand much off the day, but really no lifting..
Thanks!

Sounds like round ligament pain.....the ligaments supporting your pelvic structures are stretched continually as the uterus grows and you put your usual demands on your body (e.g. extended standing, walking, working). It is normal and natural, but not at all pleasant. Some experience pain of this nature so intense, they come to OB for an evaluation. And yes, a maternity belt/support belt is a very good idea. They help many people who have to be on their feet continually and for extended periods. Check this article out for information:

As always, if you feel worsening pain or develop other symptoms that bother you, please don't hesitate to see or call your OB!!! Best wishes and here's to a healthy pregnancy.

Yep exactly what Deb said! She is always right! (sheesh Deb you could give the rest of us a chance to answer every once in a while LOL J/K)
I Had this with pregnancy number one really bad in my hips, and with number three in my pelvis, it sucks but is just part of being pregnant. I found that warm baths helped some and if I stretched very gently several times per day it also seemed to help. Congrats on your pregnancy and best wishes!
