Hi all, I'm trying to really get into reading here b/c the board has always been a great source of information for me. Anyway, I graduated nursing school in July of last year, took the NCLEX in August and started working in September in a high level NICU. I did not like it there very shortly in to it, was upset all the time so I opted to try and find a postpartum job closer to home. I found a great opporttunity in the hospital where I attended school so I was super excited.
I'm off orientation

, have been off for a few weeks now and while yes it is scary and yes its so busy sometimes I forget to pee, I do like my job. Now that being said - I would MUCH rather spend all my time home with my son like I did the first two years of his life

but if I have to work (and I do LOL) I am thankful and glad that I found a job that I like and the coworkers are great too.
I pray that I always like it, I know in the future I want to further my education and maybe become an LC or a nurse educator but for now I'm just thankful to like where I work and to not be crying before starting work each day (like I did in the NICU). I am happy to work with postpartum moms and newborns.
I think one day I might want to cross train into the L and D side of things but I'm not ready for that yet.
