Hi All!

My best friend is pregnant with her 1st child and has found out that she has a dermoid cyst. She has gone to a high-risk specialist who has recommended that she have surgery to remove the cyst. My friend has a ton of questions and can not seem to get anybody (her regular doc or the spcialist) to answer them for her. The specialist has said that she should have surgery, her regular OB won't give her an opinion, and my friend is not feeling comfortable with any of it.

Can anyone tell me what, if any, experience you have had with women in this situation? If they had surgery during the pregnancy, was the baby harmed? If they chose not to have surgery, was the baby harmed? If they had surgery, were they put under or did they have an epidural?
