BEST way to study for RNC exam?

Okay guys- I am ready to get down and dirty with the studying in preparation for the RNC exam. So please share...what are the best tools to use (books, CDs, online..whatever) to prepare?

Also, how long should I expect to study for the exam? I have two boys and work 2 12's a week, so I'll have to fit in studying in the evenings after the boys are in bed.

I really appreciate any and all advice!

Couple of book suggestions:

Perinatal Nursing by AWHONN

Core Curriculum for Inpatient Obstetric Nursing/AWHONN

Now, my understanding from the RN,C's where I work is these were the books you needed. I don't know myself. Have not yet come up with the several hundred dollars to test. My manager has a vision that ALL her RN's will be certified. GOOD----when they pay for all of us to test and make a raise worth it, that vision may come to be. Til then, I have to wait til I can afford it and know I won't flush $100s down the toilet for trying. One thing is be careful to keep up on your CEU's. Some of the nurses where I worked let their cert's slip cause they could not/would no tkeep up with the required CEU's to keep them current.

Maybe later when I have more time to study and for CEU's, I will do this. I wish you THE BEST!!! Let us know how it goes for you!!!

You are MORE than welcome. At that same site, you will find lots of books on obstetric nursing that are great. If you do not wish to purchase them, ask your manager/coworkers if they have these in their library/possession to borrow. Most of mine, do.
