To all you midwives out there

PLEASE be kind to students!!!!

I dealt with a midwife the other day, and she was sweet to me for about one minute, until she needed something done.

A woman was in for decreased fetal movement, at 24 weeks.
There ended up being nothing wrong, but the midwife wanted me to monitor the fetal heart rate for 10 minutes.
Well the nurse was only able to get it for 2 minutes, because the baby kept moving around.
So I really couldn't get it. And she took the fetal transducer out of my hand and said in a snotty way, "lower."

How do I know? No one has ever taught me how to even use the thing. It is my 3rd day on the unit.

It made me feel dumb.
