After asking everyone here what time they walk out of the door in the morning after night shift, I called up to the floor that I would be working on and talked directly to them. After hearing what they had to say, I decided that we can make this work and accepted the exciting offer!
I saw the reading list sticky but I just wanted to ask what is the one book that some of you might recommend I get to start "studying" for this position? I have worked L&D as an OB tech and the nurses were very helpful and explained SO much to me because they knew that is where I wanted to be after nursing school... but I won't be working at that hospital.

Hi and congratulations. I hope things work out well. I like "Inpatient Obstetrics" by Saunders (can be found at www.awhonn.org or www.barnesandnoble.com)

its outline form is easy to pick read, put down and pick up again. And it does well at "covering the bases" in OB nursing.

GOOD LUCK in your new position. Make darn sure you get fetal heart monitoring and NRP classes/certifications ASAP!
