Adult health NPs see patients ages 13 and over - no little ones. Usually, it is preferred for ACNPs (acute care nurse practitioners) to work as hospitalists. In some areas where ACNPs are less available (think rural hospitals, most likely), ANPs and FNPs can fill these positions, but it is less common.
