Smile Question? - Thinking about family nurse practitioner and/or pediatric nurse practitioner

Hi,

I am new to the forum and not sure if this question has been asked or not, but I was wondering about the job opportunities present for a master's prepared family nurse practitioner? I am currently considering this track for graduate school. So, is it possible to work in a pediatric setting if I am just a FNP? Or is it necessary to have the PNP degree? Thank you in advance for any suggestions/inputs that you may have for me.

Re: Thinking about family nurse practitioner and/or pediatric nurse practitioner

hi,
as an FNP you can work with pediatrics-- in my opinion getting an FNP was well worth it because it has allowed me to work in multiple specialties including pediatrics but didn't limit me to only peds,
good luck,
