RN Experience and the NP - Public Health experience only?

Hi everyone,
I have applied and expect to be accepted to a FNP program beginning in the fall08. My question, is I have been a Public Health nurse in a local health dept's STD clinic for the last year now. I like my job and once I become a FNP want to work in this setting or one similar (Planned Parenthood or a Community Health clinic for example) just at a higher level. Do you guys think I need acute care experience? I have an offer for a medical floor and I am sure it would help with school. I am just not sure I want to leave something I like for something I might not like. There is a reason I have avoided acute care.

A DE NP (Women's Health) where I work seems to think school will teach me all I need to know. Another NP student at my clinic thinks the experience is needed. But I am still concerned.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
