Prospective NP needs advice

I'm going to begin nursing school in less than a year, and I plan on earning my MSN at some point. Do you recommend that I earn my BSN, get a few years of experience, and then go back to school to get my MSN? Is it easy to work and get your MSN at the same time?

Thank you so much for the advice.
Jenny

Re: Prospective NP needs advice

If possible, go straight for your BSN because then your path to your MSN will be more direct. Get some experience and decide what type of NP you want to be and then go for it. Yes, it is possible to work and go school for your MSN.

Re: Prospective NP needs advice

If you have a degree already, go accelerated BSN. Because sometimes Like at Duke they take core classes that can go towards their MSN, pretty cool if you ask me, I wish I had gone that route as I had a degree prior to nursing. Anyway great luck to you.
