I have an interview assignment for school. I have a set of questions that need to be answered for a paper. I would appreciate any help!!

2. What different roles have you worked in

I am needing these questins answered for a paper I have to write.

Keep in mind these responses are fairly abbreviated...

1. Describe number of years practicing and educational experience
Graduated in 2003 with ADN, worked in ER
Went back to do RN-BSN in 2005, graduated in 2006, was still working in ER
Started MSN-ACNP May 2006 and graduated December 2007
Now working for Cardiology group doing inpatient/outpatient roles

2. What different roles have you worked in
As above, but I have also tried different positions, i.e. surgical nursing, home health nursing, cath lab nursing in the mix. I also traveled to California for an ER position for 8 weeks.

3. How is professionalism incorporated in your nursing role
I would say professionalism is most incorporated in my role with communication among the other staff, physicians, and patients. We have a certain reputation to uphold as midlevel providers, have to be accountable for our actions, and take caution not to burn bridges from potential referral sources (be it other MDs, MLPs, or patients). Among other reasons...

4. what advice would you offer a person beginning in nursing
To get as much experience as possible either before your program or during it. I worked in the ER as a nurse tech/extern before finishing the ADN program and got great exposure to nursing. Nursing is very diverse and allows for transition across many fields (pediatrics, adults, babies, surgery, ER, education, etc.) and job security is always a plus. It's important to get lots of experience and take advantage of as many learning opportunities as able. Don't get set on a certain field before you are done. I thought I wanted to do pediatrics... now I'm doing Acute Care in Adults.
