Job market for entry level NPs??

I have read with interest the 24 pages of the thread about becoming an NP with little to no RN experience. This is a different topic though. I would like to have some input from entry-level NPs who now have jobs and what type of jobs they are doing? I am also interested in how difficult it was to get a job with a direct-entry NP? I can only speak for my little corner of the world which is central IL. We have no direct-entry NP schools in the area. However, it is a very tight job market for APNs, whether they be direct-entry or traditional. When I have come across students trying to decide what school to apply to, I always suggest they talk with some grads. However, I've never gotten any feedback and was wondering what the grads of the direct-entry NP programs has been? Thanks in advance.
