Question? - International Travel as FNP/APN

Anybody ever practice as an APN out of country in a non-European or non-English speaking country? Any advice for licensing?
I hope to do medical mission work and wanted to see if there were any tangles I might be able to avoid.
Any stories, resources, or odditites would be appreciated as well.
Thanks-Jason

Re: International Travel as FNP/APN

Probably depends on the country and job. You could work for the state department. I know they are short a lot of NPs. They say their starting salaries are $80k but I hear the state dept offers $100 just to get them. Some NPs work for NGOs or foreign companies in occupational health. We're even interested in a PA/MD/NP here in our school setting and will require certification in the USA. There are no NPs here except for foreign nurses working as described above. I would bet you just need certification in your home country to work with missions.
