Does BSN school gate entry to MSN programs?

Have any of you found that the particular institution where you received your BSN made a difference in your acceptance to MSN programs?

I have heard from some folks that it would be wiser to go to a state school in my area (Arizona State University), rather that a private school (Grand Canyon University), if I wish to pursue an advanced degree.

ASU is more competitive with regard to admittance. It also requires that students wait for at least six months after program prereqs are met (that, along with their five-day a week scheduling makes it rather unattractive to me). Interestingly, both ASU and GCU had NCLEX scores that were, on average, well below those of the community colleges in their area.

Thank you.
