NP & PA - Computer Prgrams for the Office

Does anyone know the name of any good computer programs for an FNP office.
the office where I've been hired is still on paper. They're interested in a computer program.
We had one at my student site that was system specific for charting as well as included a P.E frame. It also included prescriptions and billing.
Thanks for any help

The last practice I was at used Misys Tiger which was OK. My new practice uses a specialty transplant database which is also OK. Haven't seen one that I've fallen in love with yet. The biggest thing that I don't like is that since its easier to use templates all the notes look the same. When you dictate you can put more thought into the assessment and plan which is what your referring docs really care about (thats my specialty perspective).

With FP you probably want ease of use. You also want to make sure that your templates cover all the elements so you can bill at the appropriate level. Misys is set up out of the box so the PE and ROS templates cover all the elements to bill up to an OV/NP level 5 visit.

I use Amazing Charts in my office. Easy to use, inexpensive. Does not have all the bells and whistles that some have, but it works for me (I'm a one provider office).

I second amazing charts - and although it does not have as many bells and whistles, sometimes that is a good thing. There are a few things I wish it did or wish it did differently, but for the money it's a great deal. And you get to try it for free for 90 days.
