Here's the main question to ask yourself - do I want to catch babies? Do I want to take care of women in labor? That is the main difference between a CNM and a WHNP. If you don't have any experience with laboring women, I would suggest you get some before you make the decison. You might love it, you might hate it. Get a job in labor and delivery, or become a doula. That will help you make a decision.
Personally, I love being a midwife. It's not for everyone, though. I have challenges and I have bad days. Just like most midwives I know. But I still love it.
