Thanks so very much for all your help. Hopefully, I will be taking the exam on 02/15/08. I decided over the w/e to take it then instead of later in the month. I just hope it gets postmarked by 02/05.

Will they send me a confirmation letter for the test date? how does that work?

I'll let you know what happens for sure. I just have to calm my nerves. Yipes!! I almost feel like i'm in high school getting ready for the SAT test. LOL My kids are laughing at me. They are not used to seeing me so stressed out about stuff. My 13 year old daughter keeps telling me it's just a test. My reply is, " yeah but an important one." Her and her 7 year old brother just keep telling I can do anything i put my mind...which is scary because that's what I tell them. ( I guess they do listen to me when I talk) Ha! Ha!

Hi, Cindy! Yes....they will send you a confirmation letter with the date and time, and also what you will need to bring with you (ID). I am sure that you will do fine on the test. You've been studying so it won't be unfamiliar. Yes, it is a very important test.....I'm pretty sure that if you pass, you will definitely be accepted. Isn't it amazing what our kids actually hear us saying? When you think nothing is sinking in, they will say something like that...it's a great feeling! Good luck on the fifteenth......they will let you know within 2 weeks what your scores are. Then, if you pass, you can send in all of the other application information. Shadyside is a great school. I am really enjoying it. Let me know what happens!

hi all im just thinking about shadyside nursing. Can u guys tell me what the preruiqs are to apply or take the test? and if any of you get financial aid how much did it end up costing? thanks so much any info is really helpful

Their program is an RN diploma program so there is not any prereq. due before you are accepted. But I would recommend taking as many non-nursing courses as possible to help lighten your course load when you do start school. You can transfer in A&P 1&2, Micro, Logic, and Nutrition. Just make sure if you take A&P that they were both taken at the same institution or they can't except them. Also you can't take A&P 1 somewhere else and then continue A&P 2 once you are accepted. I applied to UPMC Shadyside SON for the Fall '08 full-time program and still havent heard anything. I took the PSB test on 12-1-07 and passed everything. (My scores were: vocab- 99 math- 95 reading comp- 96 and science- 83)

When did you all receive your acceptance/rejection letter? Does anyone have an idea of when they think I might here something from the school?

Im just going crazy waiting to here something!

This is a good time to practice being patient, they do not move very fast at Shadyside. The first time I took the entrance exam, it took them so long to notify me that I passed that I was forced into the Evening/Weekend class.
Also, a new full-time class just started (ME) so they might have their hands full at the moment.

You probably won't hear from them until May.......I was in the same situation as you last year......took the test on December 2, had all of my application materials in by Jan. 1, and then I waited until May 8 until I got my acceptance letter. With your scores, I'm sure you'll get it. Good luck!

I just got my acceptance letter yesterday. So I will be attending in the fall. Anyone who is attending there now I was wondering when a good time to look for an apartment would be ? or where to start looking?
