I read this story in the area newspaper, cut it out and had it laminated for the class. This was definitely an "upper," compared to some of the ex-preemies the class cared for this summer (as part of clinical in a longterm care facility for severely handicapped children).

I saw this story on CNN last night and the Neonatologist was very firm in the fact that this child is not the status quo outcome for a less than 500g preemie and also, she was a 29 weeker.Regardless of her size, her systems were more mature in that of a 23 weeker.
